#3 - What Most People Get Wrong About Heaven
The Hidden Jurisdictional Reality of the Afterlife.
I was recently having a deep conversation with a new friend from the Indian Sikh religion, and he shared something with me that I recognize is a massive stumbling block for him when it comes to the Bible. When I asked him what he thought Heaven was, he admitted he wasn't even sure if it was a real place, but his current framework was that Heaven is just an afterlife where you go to live with other holy people for eternity.
To be completely honest, that didn't sound very great to him. And it doesn't sound great to me either.
Most of the modern church has painted a picture of Heaven that is passive, boring, and completely disconnected from reality. But when you look at the actual architecture of Scripture,
Heaven is not a cosmic retirement home for religious people.
It is the original home of human identity, an uncreated realm of absolute life-force, and a position of dimensional legal authority.
To understand why your life on Earth matters right now, you have to understand where you actually came from, how the geography of the spirit realm shifted, and what it means to be truly unified with God.
The Chronology of the Spirit: You Are Older Than Time
The Bible reveals a staggering truth that completely redefines who you are: Your spirit was engineered before Time even existed. In the chronology of creation, the Earth was made first. In Genesis 1:1-2, we see that in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth, and the earth existed in darkness before the sun was ever spoken into being.
Time was created second—built structurally on the fourth day when God set the sun, moon, and stars in place to govern day and night, serving as signs to mark seasons, days, and years (Genesis 1:14-19).
Time cannot exist without the physical physics of the Earth, the moon, and the stars rotating in space.
Yet, Scripture tells us that we were chosen and established as a family in Christ before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4). God looked at the prophet Jeremiah and declared a cosmic legal reality:
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you." — Jeremiah 1:5
Every single human spirit that has ever been born, or will ever be birthed into a physical body on Earth today, was already created and alive in Heaven before the clock ever started ticking.
This means your true identity is older than your family's mistakes. It means you existed in perfection before your bloodline ever accumulated an iniquity.
But this pre-time existence also explains why the enemy fights you so viciously. When all the human spirits were being created, I believe Lucifer (Satan) was still in Heaven. He stood in the Council Room and literally heard God declare your specific calling, your assignment, your anointing, and your purpose. When he was cast out alongside one-third of the angels (Revelation 12:4), he kept a meticulous legal ledger of those destinies.
The enemy remembers what God called your spirit to do before time began. That is why we see certain powerful bloodlines throughout history targeted, hijacked, and funneled into demonic systems like the Illuminati or occult wealth networks. Satan is intentionally trying to steal the human callings he heard in the beginning and weaponize them for his own purposes.
The Border Shift: Why Heaven Left the Earth
Originally, Heaven was not a separate, far-away location. Heaven was on Earth. The Garden of Eden was a localized atmosphere where the dimensional frequencies of God’s raw presence and physical matter were perfectly fused together as one.
We see the absolute proof of this physical intersection in Genesis 3:8, which notes that after Adam and Eve disobeyed, they "heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day." God’s presence had a sound, a frequency, and a physical stride that moved natively through the earthly terrain. It was the original design for God and man to share the same geography.
But when Adam and Eve sinned, they did something catastrophic: who you obey is who you give your power to (Romans 6:16). Adam legally traded humanity's earth-lease over to Satan, who Jesus later identified as "the prince of this world" (John 14:30).
Because God is a holy, just Judge who operates strictly by His own laws, He performed no illegal repossessions. He respected the legal transaction Adam made. Because raw Holiness cannot co-exist with treason without destroying it, the Lord had to establish a jurisdictional separation. He pulled His immediate presence back and created a distinct dimensional boundary, placing cherubim and a flaming sword to guard the perimeter of Eden (Genesis 3:24).
This is why there are now Three Heavens outlined in Scripture:
The First Heaven: The visible, physical atmosphere and sky we see with our natural eyes (Genesis 1:8).
The Second Heaven: The unseen spirit realm. This is an invisible, intermediate dimension where celestial bodies, angels, and fallen demonic forces operate (Ephesians 6:12).
The Third Heaven: The literal Throne Room of God—the uncreated center of absolute life and governance where the Apostle Paul was caught up (2 Cor 12:2).
The entire goal of Jesus' second coming is the absolute restoration of the original design: to collapse the separation and bring the Third Heaven back down to Earth permanently, as described in Revelation 21:1-3 when the Holy City descends and the tabernacle of God is once again with men. It is exactly why Jesus taught us to pray legal enforcement: “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven” (Matthew 6:10).
Dual Citizenship: Seeded and Seated
For those of us who have received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, something radical happens to our legal status. Ephesians 2:6 tells us that God has raised us up together and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
Right now, as I am typing these words on Earth, my physical body is in the natural dimension—but my spirit is legally seated in the Third Heaven at the exact same time. You possess dual citizenship.
The problem is that most believers are completely unconscious of this reality. But once your spiritual eyes are opened, you are invited to actively operate from that Throne Room position. When I say I ask permission from the Father to allow my spirit to access the Third Heaven, it is not a contradiction of my permanent position in Christ. It is a matter of courtroom protocol.
Having a legal right to a courtroom does not mean you walk past the judge's bench with dirt on your shoes. Because I am still functioning on a broken Earth, my natural inclination is exposed to sin, stress, and unaligned atmospheres. I may have agreed with a bad fruit or made a mistake since the last time I was consciously in His presence in Third Heaven. God’s raw holiness is an absolute, unshielded frequency. If I attempt to consciously stand in the council room of the Third Heaven while carrying unrepentant sin, the reaction would be catastrophic to my natural frame.
So, I pause at the threshold. I ask permission under His grace because He is a sovereign God. In that moment of pause, the Holy Spirit can choose to bring immediate translation, or He may reveal a legal breach I need to repent of first.
For my traditional Catholic readers: Understand that this is the immediate, real-time activation of the confessional. It is not about groveling in fear or trying to earn your way in through human penance. Penance is a religious attempt to perform human labor to pay for a debt that Jesus already settled with infinite equity. The Advocate (Jesus) doesn't delay His purification or require a holding cell like Purgatory; He instantly applies His blood to clear your current slate. True repentance is a swift legal realignment—you acknowledge the mess, agree with the cross, and let Him wash your feet.
For my Muslim friends: You might ask, 'How can a living human enter the presence of the Sovereign Creator?' In the Kingdom, this is not an act of human pride, mysticism, or an illegal break-in. It is strictly a matter of legal proxy. We have zero right to stand there on our own merit. But because the Supreme Judge (God Himself) has issued a divine decree, we enter exclusively under the legal covering of Jesus (God in human form). By asking permission, I am consciously submitting my natural state to the blood of Jesus, ensuring I am legally aligned before I look out from that high vantage point
Crucially, asking permission to enter the Third Heaven explicitly in the name of Jesus acts as the ultimate security lock against deception. For my Muslim friends who understand the severe danger of Jinn (deceptive spirits) and occult manipulation in the unseen world, this is the ultimate safeguard.
The Bible warns us that Satan masquerades as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14). The Second Heaven is filled with counterfeits—fallen spirits that mimic the Holy Spirit to feed people false visions. But when you anchor your request strictly in the name and blood of Jesus, you force a legal audit at the gates. No deceptive entity can operate under that Name. Asking permission in His name completely blocks any false "holy spirit" or angels of light from coming into play, paralyzes the enemy’s ability to deceive you, and ensures your access is fully sanctioned by the King.
Overcoming the Demonic Counterfeit (Addressing the Jinn)
For my Muslim friends who are reading this, you are likely highly aware of the Jinn—invisible, shape-shifting entities that occupy a parallel world, often masquerading, whispering deception, and trying to manipulate human lives. In the Biblical framework, these are the exact fallen angels and demonic forces that occupy the Second Heaven.
Islam warns against entering their territory or entertaining their whispers, and the Bible aligns with that warning completely. The Second Heaven is a highly contested zone of spiritual warfare. When you try to access the spirit realm through your own human will, meditation, or counterfeit spiritual systems, you are illegally breaking into the realm of the Jinn, leaving yourself wide open to their camouflage.
But when we ask permission to enter the spiritual realm explicitly in the name of Jesus, we are pulling down a structural verdict from the Sovereign King. Deceptive spirits cannot bypass that Name because Jesus is the actual Door (John 10:9). The name of Jesus acts like a legal filter—it instantly paralyzes any demonic counterfeit, blocks the whispers of the accuser, and ensures that your spiritual perimeter remains 100% pure and protected.
From that protected vantage point, everything changes. You see what He sees. You look down onto the earth and down onto the linear dimension of time, seeing solutions that human intellect could never compute.
Now, let's understand the geography of spiritual warfare. The New Age movement, Eastern mysticism, and witchcraft all practice counterfeit forms of spirit travel or astral projection. They use human will and demonic mechanics to illegally break into the Second Heaven, completely bypassing God's authority.
In the Kingdom, we don't operate by human will, but with explicit permission and backing from God, we are absolutely authorized to access the Second Heaven. Why? Because that is exactly where the spiritual warfare is happening.
The conflicts, the deadlocks, and the systemic blockages over cities, families, and businesses happen in the Second Heaven before they ever manifest on Earth. When the Lord grants us permission and wills it, our spirit enters that exact dimension under His divine mantle. We don't go there to wander or play; we go there as agents of the Court to execute the verdicts of the Third Heaven, tear down demonic structures, and enforce Kingdom jurisdiction over the territory. Every move is orchestrated strictly because God wills it and transports us for His structural purposes, ensuring total safety and absolute victory.
The Architecture of Oneness
This brings us to the core of what Heaven actually is, and why it completely shatters my Sikh friend's uncertainty about a questionable or boring afterlife.
The Bible declares that everything in Heaven and on Earth was made for and through Jesus Christ (Colossians 1:16).
But it goes infinitely deeper than Him simply being a historical architect. The Scripture reveals in Colossians 1:17 that "He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together."
Jesus is the literal, uncreated divine glue holding every atom, every cell, every drop of water, and every planetary orbit together right now.
He is intricately woven into the very fabric of our being, our creation, and our ongoing existence. The Creator’s signature code is vibrating inside every molecule of the universe.
Heaven is simply the place where this reality is completely unshielded and uninterrupted. It is the original design of what Earth was always supposed to be: a pristine, thriving eco-sanctuary where humans, nature, water, trees, and creatures exist in flawless, unfiltered harmony because they are all actively plugged into the same Source (God - YAHWEH).
Because God is Love (1 John 4:8), love is not a fluid emotion or a passing feeling in Heaven—it is the literal atomic infrastructure of the realm. Heaven is a space where the artificial division between the Creator and His creation is completely consumed by the unshielded presence of God Himself, who is Love. We don’t lose our unique identity or dissolve like an anonymous drop in the ocean; rather, we experience Covenant Fusion, where our distinct spirits are completely filled, animated, and unified within His living presence (John 17:21).
If you look back at the original blueprint in Genesis 1:29-30, God’s design for this ecosystem was entirely free of violence, fear, and death. Humans and animals were strictly vegetarian; there was zero bloodshed. It wasn't until Genesis 9:3, after Noah’s Ark landed and the flood receded over a structurally broken earth, that God temporarily permitted meat-eating to sustain mankind, saying, 'Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you.' In Heaven, that pristine, non-violent ecosystem is fully restored. There are actual animals in Heaven—lions, horses, and magnificent creatures—but what we call 'predators' on Earth do not hunt or destroy one another there. As the prophet Isaiah legally recorded of the restored order, the wolf dwells with the lamb, the leopard lies down with the goat, and the lion eats straw like the ox (Isaiah 11:6-7). There is no survivalism, no hunger, no perversion, and no systemic decay. There is only life—infinite, radiating life for eternity, because the Prince of Peace is the literal atmosphere we breathe.
The Jurisprudential Proof: Why the Biblical Heaven is the Only Logical Reality
When you lay the world's religious frameworks flat on a courtroom table, a glaring structural flaw becomes instantly apparent in their definitions of the afterlife.
My Sikh friend’s current understanding—one shared by millions across various traditional and Eastern religions—is that Heaven is essentially a spiritual country club where you go to reside with other holy people and gurus for eternity. But under the strict laws of logic and spiritual jurisprudence, this definition completely collapses for two distinct reasons:
1. Dismantling the Spatial Flaw (The Capacious City)
Some religious traditions teach that Heaven is a formless, abstract state of mind, or a small holding room for souls. But the Book of Revelation destroys this 'spatial flaw' by giving us the exact, literal dimensions of our future home.
In Revelation 21:15-16, an angel takes a golden measuring rod to outline the New Jerusalem—the city where Heaven and Earth permanently merge. The Scripture records that the city is a perfect cube, measuring 12,000 stadia on each side. In modern measurements, that is roughly 1,400 to 1,500 miles wide, 1,500 miles long, and 1,500 miles high.
To my Sikh friends who look for Mukti (liberation) and might see a physical city as a limitation: Look closer at the design. This city is built of transparent gold and crystal-clear gems. It is the ultimate manifestation of Sach Khand—the Realm of Truth. It is not a boundary that traps you; it is a infinite, multi-dimensional kingdom that proves God does not destroy His creation—He perfects it. This city has enough room and capacity to house billions of spirits with vast square mileage per person. It is not an abstract, foggy cloud, nor is it a stagnant country club; it is a physical, architectural masterpiece of immense structural design where you live in constant, active harmony with the Divine.
Now, you might naturally ask: If God is completely limitless and owns the entire cosmos, why would He establish a localized, 1,500-mile secure boundary to encapsulate humanity? > The answer comes down to a radical law of spiritual physics that the modern world completely misunderstands: The Law of Non-Obliteration.
A truly good, just, and perfect God will. never throw a cosmic tantrum and obliterate His own creations—whether that means the billions of galaxies across the universe, the concept of Time itself, or even the angelic beings who rebelled against Him. Nothing God creates is ever annihilated; instead, everything must be structurally reassigned to its proper legal jurisdiction for eternity.
The New Jerusalem is a pristine, secure vault designed to completely isolate humanity and remove us from a linear timeline layered with decay, keeping us perfectly safe while the rest of the cosmos is realigned. But for now, let's look at how this architecture changes our immediate strategy on Earth
2. The Debt of the Internal Economy (The Flaw of Good Intentions)
In Eastern frameworks like Sikhism, the entire universe is governed by a cosmic balance sheet of cause and effect (Karma). The goal of the holy life is to slowly work off your moral debt across lifetimes to eventually achieve liberation (Mukti).
But for the average person who isn't closely walking with the Lord, they hit a definitive, structural wall here. They ask, 'How is it possible that a fundamentally decent human can never catch up to their own debt? If I don't curse, I don't kill, I don't lie, and I don't steal, why is my balance sheet still defaulting?'
The answer lies in the legal definition of the heart posture. In the courtroom of Heaven, sin is not just an external criminal act; it is an internal alignment. You can be externally flawless while your internal economy is trading in spiritual contraband.
Jesus completely reset this legal standard in the Sermon on the Mount. He proved that if you carry hidden frustration, stress, or anger in your thoughts, your heart posture is already legally compromised in the spirit realm. Stress is an active agreement with the bad fruit of fear; chronic frustration is an active agreement with the bad fruit of pride. Remember, demons are behind the bad fruit. Even if you never speak a wicked word out loud, your internal thoughts create a legal breach in the spirit.
Because we are born into a structurally broken bloodline, no human can ever generate enough clean equity to pay off an inherited, multi-generational deficit. You cannot use a corrupted heart to buy a pure nature. Every time you try to balance your own ledger through human behavior, you are trying to pay an infinite, spiritual debt with a finite, broken currency. It is mathematically and legally impossible.
Why the Bible’s Layout is Permanently Unassailable
The Biblical Heaven is accurate because it is the only framework where you do not lose your unique identity, yet you are completely structurally fused into the nature of God (John 17:21). My Sikh friend's framework teaches that the soul must dissolve like a drop of water into the ocean to find peace. But the Bible reveals a higher legal reality: Covenant Fusion. You do not have to cease to exist to be unified with God. You aren't hanging out with holy people, nor are you wiped out into anonymity; you are swimming in the literal, unshielded river of Love, Joy, and Peace that flows directly from the Throne (Revelation 22:1).
The Bible does not define Heaven by who lives there; it defines Heaven by Whose life-force animates it. It is an Uncreated Frequency: In Colossians 1:16-17, we are told that all things were created by Him and for Him, and in Him all things hold together.
Heaven is the epicenter of the uncreated, unrestricted frequency of the Creator Himself. It is an overflowing ecosystem of pure life-force.
It Is Not Cohabitation; It Is Transfusion: The Biblical Heaven is accurate because it is the only framework where you do not lose your unique identity, yet you are completely structurally fused into the nature of God (John 17:21). You aren't hanging out with holy people; you are swimming in the literal, unshielded river of Love, Joy, and Peace that flows directly from the Throne (Revelation 22:1).
This is why the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness—is the actual air of Heaven. Those qualities do not exist because the people there are behaving well; they exist because the Holy Spirit is the literal atomic structure of the environment.
You should be completely convinced of this definition because it is the only one that satisfies the math of infinity. Any afterlife that relies on a location or the company of other humans will eventually default back into boredom, decay, and limitation. But a reality built on a total genetic overhaul and direct, legal fusion with the Uncreated King is an ecosystem of infinite, thriving, and radiating life for eternity.
The courtroom case is closed. Every other religion offers a better prison cell; only the Bible offers an entirely new nature.
The Marketplace Tactical Briefing
Understanding this architecture changes how we fight in the spiritual courtroom today.
If your true identity is older than the old you and older than your family's mistakes, you no longer have to live as a victim of your bloodline's trauma, diseases, or failures. You have a legal right to appeal to your original blueprint in the Third Heaven.
But to clear your legal perimeters on Earth, you must do an audit. Because the enemy has been tracking your bloodline since he heard your calling in the beginning, he looks for unrepentant sins from your ancestors to maintain a legal claim over your family's assets and health.
We must go into the courtroom and ask the Lord to reveal anything our ancestors have done all the way back to Adam and Eve that has not been settled, so we can repent on their behalf in the name of Jesus. We break the generational iniquity, shut the door in the Second Heaven, and enforce our true seat in the Third Heaven.
You are not a broken human trying to hustle your way into a boring afterlife. You are a magnificent spirit created before time. Through your position in Christ, you are legally authorized to enter the Courtroom, stand with your Advocate (Jesus) against every accusation of the enemy, and enforce the power of the blood to bring the pristine atmosphere of Heaven down to shift the territory of Earth right now.
The Closing Call: How to Receive Jesus Christ as Your Lord and Savior
If you are reading this and you realize your internal economy is compromised, you do not have to spend your life hustling to clear your own balance sheet. You cannot force your way into having God's spiritual DNA through good behavior, religious rituals, or sheer willpower. Human effort can modify your behavior, but it can never give you a brand-new nature. The debt has already been litigated and paid in full by the only Source (God Himself) with infinite equity.
Receiving Jesus Christ is a legal exchange of identity. You hand Him your broken record, your family's iniquities, and your internal stress, and He hands you His uncreated divine nature, His permanent security clearance, and your true position in the Third Heaven.
If you are ready to walk out of the system of performance and step into your true citizenship, simply speak these words out loud right now from an honest heart:
"Dear Heavenly Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus Christ. I know that I am a sinner and I need Your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead so I could have eternal life. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my life to receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for saving me, washing me clean, and making me a new person. Wash my perimeters, shut the door to the enemy, and seal my spirit in the Third Heaven. I belong to You. In Jesus' name, Amen."
